This has been bugging me for a while. I've tried to let it pass, but it really annoys me.
What is it, you ask?
All these super unoriginal UTAU designs.
I'm sorry, but ripping off a Vocaloid, change their gender and a few details and give them a new voice isn't original.
And no. Miku is not the only victim of having her design stolen.
I think I've seen at least 80% of the Vocaloids that have official designs so far being copied.

And please, instead of crawling into your emocorner when being confronted about it, at least explain why you copied said character.
If you have trouble designing, other people around dA and other sites can help.
If you're a fan of them, that's fine. But directly copying someone isn't cool.

And if you're tired of hearing "He/she looks like this/that", why don't you do something about it?
Blocking someone or hiding their comments won't make your UTAU any more original.
Sometimes, a simple color swap is all that's needed to make them look decent.


Bah.
I'll go bang my head against a wall now.

I Agree with you. I have some Utauloids that has different colors but the same outfit. I don't copy them entirly, i just use them for inspiration. But I agree with you. People also copy their names too. Like ( for example) "Hatsune Izumi" or Kagamine Rima. Or they take the design of VOCALOIDs that people wouldn't think to look twice at. Like Mayu or Lou Tiyani.
